Be vigilant, but be unafraid ! As U2 heads back to Paris

New York City:  Bono was honored during the10-year anniversary of his humanitarian organizations, ONE and (RED), Bono, U2’s frontman, was characteristically hopeful about returning to Paris, stressing joy and defiance in the face of terror.

"Nothing will stop us from going back. Be vigilant, but be unafraid." U2 does not have a history of canceling shows and as Bono said "Its the Irish in us we just don't want to give into terrorism.

The head of Live Nation Arthur Fogel's face said it clearly to us that this was not going to happen. Now we needed to turn our focus to how can we help our fellow musicians "The Eagles of Death Metal"  As we focused on our departure from Paris we offered our plane and in the end we found what was needed most was some mobile devices to reconnect. Since the band lost their phones at the venue.

When asked about the new scheduled shows in Paris, Bono said that the show will go on as normal. Defining normal as the show was intended to be. Its business as usual as act of defiance.

Paris will be the end of this tour. The band had planned to end their tour at home in Dublin however its fitting that the boys head back to Paris with all the hope in the world for peace.

Each Mark Peterson Photo Book purchased today a donation will be made on your behalf to "One Campaign" To date (RED) has generated more than $300 million for The Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS grants in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia.

What is World AIDS Day?

World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988.

Why is World AIDS Day important?

Over 100,000 people are living with HIV in the UK. Globally there are an estimated 34 million people who have the virus. Despite the virus only being identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.

Today, scientific advances have been made in HIV treatment, there are laws to protect people living with HIV and we understand so much more about the condition. Despite this, each year in the UK around 6,000 people are diagnosed with HIV, people do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others, and stigma and discrimination remain a reality for many people living with the condition.

World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and Government that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.

* Donations will be made on your behalf for each purchase. You will receive a confirmation of the donation made on your behalf via email.  U2TOURFANS is not affiliated or associated with One Campaign nor RED. The donation is simply our way of partnering with you to give back for the greater good of man kind.

U2's Return to Paris

Paris, France:  Over the last few days new rumors have started to surface that the band may be returning to France after the Dublin shows.

However this has yet to be to confirmed. The French authorities will decide when U2 returns to Paris according to Bono's comments during earlier interview.

The band is currently in Ireland playing a total of 6 shows will continue to finish out this leg of the tour and return to the studio to finish up the next album which is due to be released early 2016.

Mean time Bono reflected back on the MSG shows; The feeling of Madison Square Garden was just unbelievable. ... The feeling was just "this is who we are; you can't change us,"

Bono said" 'You're not going to turn us into haters, or you're not going to turn us around in the way we go about our lives.' That was the feeling of Madison Square Garden back then, and I hope that will be the feeling at Bercy (the arena in Paris) when we get back there."

Sources suggest that U2 have been in talks to lead an all star Paris concert event to benefit the victims of November 13th attacks.

The boys are in discussions to put together a concert to help the families of the victims.  Bono has been trying to work on getting other musicians lined up to support the event.  In the wake of most bands now canceling any euro tour this might be a challenge.

However if any one can pull it off Bono would be the one to get everyone engaged.  We will check back with our sources and update as information becomes available.

Bono Speaks Out Against Terrorism

Paris, France:  In response to the attacks in Paris as well as a government issued request U2 along with other concert events have all canceled their Friday Night and Saturday night shows. Saturday's nights show was to be the HBO special which industry insiders stated this would be the return of HBO's live event programming to compete against the slew of online entertainment choices.

As the events unfolded Brian Murphy Head of U2 security already alerted the band and crew and safely marshaled everyone back to the hotel safely. The city was closed with no airport access, no ground transportation moving in or around the city. The band and crew remained at the hotel to watch in horror as the events unfolded on TV.

Bono spoke out on Dave Fanning's broadcast "This is the first direct hit on music that we've had in this so-called 'War on Terror' or whatever it's called," continued the singer, known for his left-leaning political views. "It's very upsetting. These are our people. This could be me at a show. You at a show, in that venue. It's a very recognizable situation for you and for me and the coldblooded aspect of this slaughter is deeply disturbing and that's what I can't get out of my head."

The band laid bouquets of flowers on a makeshift candlelight memorial on the pavement next to the scene of the deadliest incident, a shooting attack inside the Bataclan Theatre.

Gunmen shot dead at least 110 people watching the American band Eagles of Death Metal perform at the concert hall. The musicians survived, while Nick Alexander, 36, who worked at their merchandise table during the group's our, was killed, his family said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

At least 129 people were killed in all six attacks, the deadliest to take place in Paris since World War II. The terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility.

HBO, Live Nation and U2 are "are fully resolved to go ahead with this show at an appropriate time,"

Our crew will be heading to Belfast and Dublin to capture the final shows for 2015. This has been an interesting year for the band one filled with grief, sorrow, loss and as well as many outstanding memorable times. No word has been given yet for 2016/2017 dates however knowing U2 we would expect the boys to head out on the next leg around the world.
