Inspired by Led Zeppelin


U2's new album 'No Line On The Horizon' is inspired by Led Zeppelin and the White Stripes.

The band's guitarist The Edge has revealed the group were influenced by the legendary British rock band and Jack White after the Irish axe man appeared in a programme documenting the history of the electric guitar with Jack and Led Zeppelin star Jimmy Page.

Speaking about his part in documentary 'It Might Get Loud', The Edge, 47, said: "I was just fascinated with seeing how Jimmy played those riffs so simply, and with Jack as well."

The Edge, real name David Howell Evans, also revealed how he and his bandmates - frontman Bono, bass guitarist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. - took an unconventional approach to making the record, which is released in March.

The Edge: "It started just with me playing and Larry drumming, and we took it from there. It's very raw and very to the point. It's like rock'n'roll 2009!"

Meanwhile, The Edge has revealed the scheduled opening date of the new 'Spider-Man' musical he has been working on with Bono, director Julie Taylor and scriptwriter Glenn Berger.

He said: "It is happening. It's a pretty good state, and I hope it will be open this year. We are not sure where in the world but most likely it will be in New York."

Super Bowl 43 Halftime show


Coming to Tampa for the third time the Super Bowl Once again I am going to jump and work a couple of events.

The NFL Experience is the most exciting continuous event surrounding Super Bowl XLIII -- pro football's interactive fan festival offering participatory games, displays, entertainment attractions, kids' football clinics, free autograph sessions and the largest football card show ever. This will be a event that goes on all week. I have no clue what I will be doing yet.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform live on NBC in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Now this is show time. I will be working on the halftime show for the rest of the month in January. Getting ready for 12 minutes. Practice begins later in the month. I have done this before its pretty fun. Having been in the business before I really like the whole settting up and show time experince.

What should be the focus of 2009

I have been thinking for a couple of weeks what could be the focus for 2009. As most of you have seen the site has been updated, Yes we do have a couple of sponsors and we do welcome them all. Now the question comes what should we be talking about.

Should I talk about how I wish I was getting a bailout or the fact that Bush is soon to be out of office.

Or how about this who is this Madoff guy? He really scammed some people and most likely will walk away from it all.
Lots of conversation around the issues that maybe important to you or someone you know. Really I am not just going to talk about sex, drugs and rock and roll. Lets face it that would be a limited conversation. I am thinking that its time to focus on something different. I am going to write about the issues that I am interested in. I welcome your feedback or suggestions.
