Chile Stadium Filling Up !

6 Thousand screaming fans are already inside the statdium as 3,00 more await to enter the inner circle. Doors open 16:00 and according to production estimates 75 thousand fans will pack the house tonight.

At 6 o’clock yesterday morning began arriving fans of the quartet, who spent Thursday night and early this morning covered with sleeping bags and tents, to overcome the low temperatures.

The fans that came as they were being marked with a number, managed to let them spend the night at the Stadium Athletic Track.

Those numbers would allow them to be going smoothly to Inner Circle sector, which occur around 14.00 or 15.00, before the opening of doors to the general public scheduled for 16.00 pm today.

Before entering the venue, fans were entertained by U2 singing songs with guitar, and then enjoying the sound check for their idols, which started at 18.40 and lasted for about 3 hours. Could there be a glimpse of how the code tonight, with topics such as Mysterious Ways, Beautiful Day and Elevation and the stunning scenery that includes the 360 tour of the set of Bono.

U2 rehearsals in Santiago

Yesterday the band took sometime  to rehearse at Estadio Nacional. One of the biggest surprises is that they did some sound checks around “One Tree Hill” so far this tour its been played at two concerts in New Zealand.

The rest of the set was fairly what you would expect as the tour progresses thru South America. Stingyray was rehearsed which sat on the side lines for the last two shows in South Africa. 

Here is the set list from the sound check, remember that this is not considered a show set list. Most of the time during rehearsals you can expect to have large gaps between songs so that programing can be worked out or some other features could be added. Bono was not in a couple of the songs.

U2 Chilean Fans Wait

More than 500 people are outside the National Stadium waiting for the U2 concert. Although the concert will not start until 22.00 pm on today, a group of more than 500 people already outside the National Stadium, waiting to open the doors of the room to witness the spectacle of U2.

The first followers of the Irish band would come at about 6.00 am this morning, led by the official fan club of the group in Chile.

Bono arrives in Chile Rushed to Hotel

U2 360 Tour Bono  Larry Mullen and Bono just arrived in Chile in hours this afternoon (around noon and 15:30, respectively), and U2 fans come to this hour in constant flux to the National Stadium, where for much of the day is done the sound check and the surrounding area several times they hear songs like “Magnificent”, “I will follow”, “Misterous way”, among others.

The musicians went to the W hotel after landing in Santiago, where it was already “The Edge” and family  , who themselves have participated in the tests in the arena of Providencia.

Justin Bieber and U2 are among artists who have agreed to contribute songs to an album to raise funds for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

Record label Universal Music said it hoped to release the digital-only album globally by the end of the week.

Bon Jovi and Rihanna have also been confirmed for the album, which will raise money for the Japanese Red Cross.

On Tuesday police said the death toll from the disaster had risen to 9,079, with 12,645 people listed as missing.

“We are doing it only digitally because it is faster,” said a Universal spokesman, adding that the record would be “a worldwide release.”

Announcing his involvement with the album on Twitter, Bieber wrote: “Japan needs our help… We all need to step up.”

Trinidadian singer and rapper Nicki Minaj, whose album Pink Friday went to number one in the U.S. last year, is also confirmed.

Universal artist Lady Gaga may also appear on the album, with more artists set to be announced.

The Poker Face singer has designed a “We Pray for Japan” rubber wrist band to sell to fans, with all proceeds going to relief efforts.

Last week she announced her fans had raised $250,000 (£153,000) within the first two days of sales.

La banda U2 se presentará este viernes en el país con su 360° Tour, el que consta de un escenario conocido como “La garra”, una estructura de 50 metros de alto convertida en el mayor montaje musical que ha pasado por el país.

Esta monumental puesta en escena ha causado preocupación en el mundo del fútbol ya que se desconoce cómo quedará la cancha del recinto de Ñuñoa luego del recital de este viernes. Ante esta situación desde la producción del evento llaman a la calma ya que han tomado todas las medidas para tener todo en perfectas condiciones.

“Nos hemos preocupado de tomar todas las medidas correspondientes para proteger y reponer cualquier daño que se produjese en la cancha luego del concierto. Hay un cubre campo de aluminio para proteger la cancha del peso del escenario y de la maquinaria existente”, comentó a Cooperativa.cl Francisco Bas, productor técnico de Time For Fun (T4F), la productora encargada del evento.

“Además, hemos comprado más de 4.000 m2 de pasto para reponer la cancha, sea cual sea su estado. La cancha se entregará en iguales o mejores condiciones de la que estaba antes de recibirla”, acotó.
