Be vigilant, but be unafraid ! As U2 heads back to Paris

New York City:  Bono was honored during the10-year anniversary of his humanitarian organizations, ONE and (RED), Bono, U2’s frontman, was characteristically hopeful about returning to Paris, stressing joy and defiance in the face of terror.

"Nothing will stop us from going back. Be vigilant, but be unafraid." U2 does not have a history of canceling shows and as Bono said "Its the Irish in us we just don't want to give into terrorism.

The head of Live Nation Arthur Fogel's face said it clearly to us that this was not going to happen. Now we needed to turn our focus to how can we help our fellow musicians "The Eagles of Death Metal"  As we focused on our departure from Paris we offered our plane and in the end we found what was needed most was some mobile devices to reconnect. Since the band lost their phones at the venue.

When asked about the new scheduled shows in Paris, Bono said that the show will go on as normal. Defining normal as the show was intended to be. Its business as usual as act of defiance.

Paris will be the end of this tour. The band had planned to end their tour at home in Dublin however its fitting that the boys head back to Paris with all the hope in the world for peace.

INGLEWOOD, CA: A day off for all us U2 goes back to work at THE FORUM with show #3. The set list has pretty much been set for a few shows and the boys are now working on those add in songs that will be sprinkled about the tour. Two new songs added "Elevation" and "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" have both been added to the set list after appearing on the Roxy set list.

Many questioned if the the band could support a multi day set within the same city and the boys answered back with a blasting visual outstanding show that proved that the band can pull though any issue and continue to  perform without missing a beat.

Now we have heard fans start to call this "THE CURSED" tour we have to say that is just not the case.

Life has movement, Just as the band has movement. Focus on the music. Leave the rest of the stuff behind.

Two more show and the boys move on to Denver.

New Year Brings New Music and More

The year is coming to a close and this surely was an interesting year.  We have had our share of rumor stories, release dates, tour dates and push back dates and yet it all seemed to work out in the end.

The album release was interesting, who would have thought about releasing an album for free worldwide on iTunes would have caused such a stir among music fans.

Next we had a scheduled appearance on "The Tonight Show" canceled because Bono was tooling around Central Park and no one seemed to notice. The Edge said it was  because he was disguised as a Hasidic Jew.

Which later was proven untrue.  This week filming the next video, it seemed a bit to noisy for the locals and yet production remained on schedule.   Now we heard that Songs of Experience  will be released early next year. No idea how they plan to release it.

We at U2TOURFANS have been busy too. We have redesigned our website to be more of an interactive place for fans to be able to engage in community interaction with other fans. We launched our forum community both versions now available. The community is rather small right now however we do expect it to grow.  We also made a call out for our tour street team to support the shows coming up. You still have time to sign up and be apart of the fun.   Our tour pages have been built and ready to publish tour news by location.

We do have to announce that we have reached a major mile stone. We have had over 10 Million interactive U2 fans engaged during the year. This was outstanding ! Finally we have been working on something pretty big for next year.  We believe this will put all our properties together in a single easy to use environment.  We have made some new partners over the years and we believe that we are ready to launch the next phase of U2TOURFANS.  We hope you come along for the ride.

Cheers Mates,  May the season be a blessing to you and your family and may you find joy and peace within each tune you play.

U2's 2015 European Tour, Launchs from Turin

Reports are coming that U2 may launch their 2015 world tour from Turin.  Its not surprise that U2 really enjoyed the Turin dates that the last time around.

Now the talks are early and of course fluid until confirmation comes. The tour is expected to launch September 2015 and go on for about a year of so. The boys will arrive in Turin a few months ( ah we say weeks) a head for rehearsals for two different types of shows.

The new tour would have to be home at Pala Alpitour. They would be provided for two nights in each city, two different shows for a concert that would cross over two evenings.

Psst U2 North America Dates

The boys should be out on tour next May or early June 2015 right after the Hockey plays offs and NBA should be all wrapped up by that time.  Starting dates are still fluid as the our friends in Live Nation Global touring work the routing of the band out we can expect to see some announcement and possible ticket sales around 11/22/14 with pre-sale starting  sooner. Now of course this could all fall apart without warning. Its fluid we said so expect change

2015 Tour Smaller Venues

Dublin started packing for this up coming tour sometime ago. New road cases ordered and we can expect to see the whole family out on tour next year.

What will be different this tour is that the shows will be in smaller venues because the music is much more personal intimate  that a small venue would be better suited for. Yes 360 was amazing and some would say heck it sure was intimate however that was a massive under taking with a BIG ROCK show feel.

Christian O'Connell, Bono said: "We're gonna be touring. We're gonna start next year. Were gonna try and play the O2 and places like that, more indoors that outdoors this time, but we'll see where it takes us.

"It's exciting. We'll be coming your way and these songs are the songs that, I think . . . I think they will play themselves."

Bono further admitted that he finds it harder than ever to tour and leave his family.

He added: "Only if the songs are great can you bear leaving home. We all have families and mates and... so you know, you're looking for 11 great reasons to leave home and I think we've got them.

"You know what it's like now, it's like a whole city goes on the road with us. Our kids go out on the road, they get excited about it. It's like . . . yeah, it's kind of a whole . . . Dublin goes on the road."

U2 Fans will have to wait until 2015

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS 2014

Bono / U2 / U2TOURFANS 2014

What has happened to the magic?  Over the last few months, it seems that the magic has left the building. U2 expected to release a new album this year with a stadium tour in the summer and it seems that the whole thing stalled out in Dublin.  The album we like to call “Lucky 13” seems to be taking longer to finish and while some may say that’s ok because the whole album will capture the magic again.

Rumors suggest that the band was looking creative support on this project and this was the reason to push to 2015.  Remember this is a self-imposed release date nothing official was announced.

"We've always needed collaborators to challenge us," says drummer Larry Mullen. "We're slow learners. We need to be creative, on the cutting edge, challenged, and it's really hard going, it's relentless, and we're relentless, and we have a history of breaking engineers, producers. I mean, people come out of working with U2 and just go, 'I just don't know what's happened; it feels like a lifetime has passed by.' And that's just the way we work."

Bono then added: "The album won't be ready till it's ready. However, right now, people are walking a little differently -- well, they are not walking, they are running as if to a finish line. There are a couple of songs that are part of the story we have not quite finished. We know we have to spend a couple of years taking these songs around the world, so they'd better be good."

Bono’s comments suggest a world tour will follow shortly after the release of the new project. Will it be worth the wait or have we already experienced the best that U2 has to offer?  Time will tell.

Complete Rubbish, U2 new Album will arrive 2014

U2 have rejected reports that their new album and tour is to be delayed until next year. A brilliant move by some marketing industry types to keep the band in the center of the music worlds focus.

Billboard pops off some speculated rumors that that bands lucky 13 will be subject to a push out or rather a push back into next year.

Well fans chill out a bit because now the new rumor is that the boys will in fact be ready toss out another fantastic album this year, in fact another rumor suggests that we may see something very soon.

A spokesperson for the "The Guardian" has rejected the claims that the boys have lost that loving feeling for each other and fail to come together to complete the project.  As for a tour plan, heck that's really going to be a Summer 2015 if at all.
